LMS video assessment, without the workarounds

Practical skills don't show up in a quiz. Until now, assessing them meant sending learners out of the course to record somewhere else, then chasing files and copying results back into the gradebook. With Remote Reviewer's LMS integration, the whole review happens from the course page your learners already use.

LTI 1.3 (Learning Tools Interoperability): an open standard that lets a learning management system securely launch an external tool, such as Remote Reviewer, from inside a course and exchange information such as grades.

How it works

1An LMS admin connects Remote Reviewer

Your LMS administrator connects Remote Reviewer once, usually in a few clicks using the LMS's automatic (Dynamic) registration.

2Teachers add an activity and choose a template

Inside their course, teachers add a Remote Reviewer activity and pick one of your organisation's Remote Reviewer templates (Deep Linking). The checklist and instructions come with it.

3Learners record or upload in the course

Learners open the activity in the LMS, record or upload their video, then check their status and read reviewer feedback without leaving the course.

4Results land in the gradebook

Reviewers assess the video against the checklist in Remote Reviewer as usual. When the review is complete, a pass/fail result flows back into the LMS gradebook automatically.

Built for everyone in the course

LMS administrators

Connect once using a standard LTI 1.3 registration. No separate integration project, and no custom code to maintain.

Teachers and course designers

Add video assessment to a course the same way you add any other activity, using templates your organisation already manages in Remote Reviewer.

Learners

Record or upload from the course page, then come back to the same place to check progress and read feedback. No extra links to keep track of.

Reviewers

Assess submissions in Remote Reviewer with the same checklists, timestamped comments and structured feedback you use for every other review.

Your brand, your plan

White-label the in-LMS pages

If your plan includes white labelling, the Remote Reviewer pages learners see inside the LMS can carry your organisation's own branding, so the experience feels like part of your course.

Availability

LMS integration is available on Remote Reviewer plans that include API access. Compare plans or talk to us about connecting your LMS.

LMS integration FAQ

Which Remote Reviewer plans include LMS integration?

LMS integration is available on plans that include API access. White-labelled in-LMS pages are available on plans that include white labelling. See plans and pricing.

Is the Remote Reviewer Moodle plugin still available?

Yes. The Remote Reviewer Moodle plugin is still available for Moodle sites that prefer to connect through their Remote Reviewer API setup. The LTI 1.3 integration offers a standards-based way to connect Moodle and other LTI 1.3 platforms.
